How to wear a boucle jacket?

Recently we got a question/request to give some ideas on how to wear a boucle jacket.  The reason for uncertainty, as stated, was that boucle easily make you 20 years older and far less cool than what one can hope for in her 20s. And it's true. Boucle jacket is obviously solidly back on the fashion scene, even though it was never out of fashion, it was rather the monopoly of older, well-off women who were willing to spend a fortune on a Chanel or Valentino jacket. It is a difficult piece to style, yet looks extremely cool when/if styled the right way.

Coco Chanel in own timeless creation

But the boucle jacket has been ´modified´ and reintroduced for younger audition, used as for example seen here on Kate Middleton and Aline Weber.

Here are our suggestions:)

Boucle jacket is a classical, almost too classical piece. So to style it young and cool, it is allowed to go a bit ´too far´ with worn out jeans, tees with funny motives, lots of hipster accessories, like charms, bracelets, big rings. The key is to match after mixing:)
(Boucle jacket Topshop - 115$,  T-shirt Edun - 68$, Bracelets Accessorize - 12$ each, Pumps Mango - 150$, Bag Zara - 100$, Sunglasses Asos.com - 20 $, Jeans H&M - 80$, Scarf River Island -  20$, Ring Oscar De La Renta - 225$)

One can of course go more classical with a skirt and all. But then to keep it up to date, make sure to wear a miniskirt or a full skirt from a mismatching material. Bright colours and accessories 'from 21st century' will remind the people around that you didn´t just walk out of your grandma´s wardrobe with her favourite jacket:)
(Boucle jacket Topshop - 115$, Sunglasses Selima Sun for JCrew - 128$, Blouse Oasis - 75$, Watch - Michael Kors - 2150$, Sandals Clark´s - 125$, Ring Asos.com - 15 $, Bag Aldo - 55$, Earrings - Miss Selfridge - 25$, Belt Zara - 30$, Skirt Missoni - 670$, Tights - Miss Selfridge 12$)

Have a beautiful Thursday,

:*
